"In the Summer Time, When the Weather is Fine"...

Ah the sweet, fleeting days of summer. :) I realize I have been a pretty stinky blogger, despite the very much enjoyed surplus free time I've recently acquired. Sorry about that. Consequently, the purpose of this post is to give you a quick overview of some of our summer highlights. I already regret that I didn't take more pictures (as always) but it's hard to stop and take pictures when you're having so much fun. We did do some work this summer, I worked at the preschool and Brig at the pharmacy, but nobody wants to hear about that boring stuff. We have been so lucky to get to spend the past few months at the Cook's house playing with nieces and nephews and brothers and sisters. We have LOVED being back in Utah so close to family and friends. At the beginning of the summer we said farewell for three years to Mom and Dad Cook who began their mission as presidents of the Carlsbad, California area. We had a lot of family coming and going throughout that process and it was fun to see and spend extra time with them. We've gone to several weddings of close buddies which has been really neat and Brig has been a great sport about attending several family reunions as well. Again, I don't have pictures of most of our summer activities but here are some of the highlights I did capture.
We got to spend a few days jet skiing at Bear Lake
Korryn got pooped on
Brigham made it worse
Manly men dig holes

We got to spend some extra time with Korryn and Scott's kids because they were SOOO kind as to host us for the last month of the summer.  This is after Leigha's first experience with s'mores. She really likes them.

Brig had a lot of fun with the boys. Everyone needs a haircut for the summer right? (you should see what he did to the cat.)
Our 2nd annual homemade cherry pie. (surprisingly worse than last year, but we'll improve.)
Our first camping trip of wedded history. Comfy and cozy.
Manly men chop wood.
A VandeMerwe take on the famous "American Gothic"

Traylor Family

Looks like you two are having a good time. We miss you!

And Benjamin looks big because he IS big...the kid is huge, and actually fits into a few of Lucas' shirts...no joke. It's very depressing! (only in the sense that it will be awhile before I have another baby, and want him to stay little until then.)

Also, I grew up in the Carlsbad mission zone. Ha. I have an aunt there that I know would LOVE to have some sister missionaries...her daughter has been very ill the past year or so, and I know they could really use the spirit in their home. Maybe you guys could put in a good word for them!?

Can't wait to get together for some junk food and games!

Korryn
