I love little holidays like Saint Patrick's Day. It's always nice to have an excuse to have a little party, just to kick off a bit of the ordinary. So I wore green socks, Brig wore green contacts, and of course we ate a green dinner.
I felt like last years dyed food looked a teensy unappetizing so I tried to go with some more naturally green foods. Basil pesto chicken and pasta, zucchini squash, apples, and it wouldn't be a party without kool-aid (which is probably not naturally green but hey, nobody's perfect.) On a side note, here are some other pictures I took this week:
This cat has been pretty much living on our deck the past few days. We don't know where it came from. We haven't fed it so we don't know why it keeps coming back, we figure it is Brigham's general cat allure. He looks a little fierce in this picture but don't worry, he's just yawning. It's kinda nice, like having a pet without the bother of having to clean up after it or feed it.:)
This is my first attempt at making homemade bread of any kind, ever. Something about the kneading and the yeast and all the stories I've heard about how temperamental it can be has always intimidated me. I guess I finally got enough of a homemakery urge to give it a try. They turned out alright but I'm already looking forward to trying again to see if I can make 'em better.
Spring is here! Blossoms on all the trees and a balmy 70 degrees every day (if not hotter). Goodbye Winter!
