Brigham's birthday and stuff

Last week was Brig's birthday, which we used as an excuse to party even though He says He doesn't like to celebrate it. Friday night we followed Cook family tradition and had a birthday dinner out on the town. The family I nanny for treated us with gift cards so we could order all the steak and shrimp we wanted with no guilt.:)
There's a whole chain of these out here, it's pretty delicious. Brig has a picture of us actually eating on his phone but I haven't stolen it yet.
Saturday, the actual day of birth, Brig had an adult version of field day with his school buddies. They call it the "pharmacolympics" and all the pharmacy braniacs at Belmont face off through a variety of tests of skill. He ended up with rope burns all around one of his hands from the tug-a-war but at least he fought valiantly. They also had a relay race, dodge ball tournament, pie eating contest, trivia contest, and probably more stuff I can't remember. I think Brigham had fun.
Some of the buddies at the pharmacolympics. Sorry I couldn't make it bigger, I stole it off facebook since I wasn't actually there. I know it's hard to see but believe me, the tall one's mine.
That night Brigham's buddy Mo hosted a barbecue birthday party at his apartment. One of the girls in their group also has her birthday on the 30th so it was a joint celebration. They are an awesome group of people, we ate food and played catch phrase and had a good ol' time.
The birthday cake. Nickname reveal.
The birthday boy and girl.
Later in the week we had our own celebration and Brig wanted key lime pie instead of cake. This meant my second attempt at homemade key lime pie, the first was before we had a hand mixer and was a little...less than successful. I was glad I got to try again.

Mmm pie.
And Brig's phone was ringing off the hook all weekend, thanks everybody for the birthday wishes. It was a pretty fun couple of days for both of us. Can't say the same about the following days since it was finals week. Brigham hasn't been sleeping much, or doing much of anything besides studying, but tomorrow is the last one! Two years down, two to go! Nice job Dr. Brigham.
And on a side note,  Happy Cinco De Mayo everybody!
