Welp time to update. This year is already flying by, I can't believe it's almost March! We've been pretty busy the past few weeks, Brig has had one test/project after another. We've also had a
ton of opportunity's to hang out with friends. It seems like every weekend we've been running from one fun thing to the next. We're lucky to have so many awesome friends. We've had game nights, movie nights, and have more than surpassed our budget for eating out.:) What's a party without food right? The leftovers have sustained us so well I've only cooked about three meals in the last three weeks.
I had my first experience with Indian food, great for the mouth, not so great for the digestive system. Other firsts from this month include a trip to see the Nashville Ballet Company perform (We got tickets from a family I nanny for, we felt very cultured) and my attempting to drive the Volkswagen. Brig gave me my first lesson after church yesterday. It was terrifying. I don't know why but I have this huge phobia of driving stick shift cars. I did successfully start the car, shift from 1st to 2nd, and drive around a parking lot but I was pretty stressed throughout the experience. We'll see if Brig can entice me into trying again...
We've also spent a few Sunday afternoons eating and playing games with some other young couples in our ward. We've loved getting to know them better, makes our ward feel a lot more like home. I'm so kicking myself for not taking pictures of all this stuff. I am, right now, adding taking pictures to my new years resolution list. No matter how annoying it becomes to those I hang out with or how disruptive it is to the activity, I will have pictures this year. The few pics I do have are, of course, of food. Just know we do have friends and we don't just sit at home and eat all the time.:)
| Our annual Chinese New Year feast. Cooked while listening to asiany music and eaten while watching the Karate Kid 2. Happy year of the rabbit! |
| Indoor picnic, Indian style. All the food was homemade, authentic Indian food cooked by some of the people in Brig's pharmacy class. |
| The legendary Cook family yams. We had a toned down Thanksgiving style dinner for Valentines day. Cause there's nothing Brigham loves more than Thanksgiving dinner, seriously. |
| More Valentines festivities. What are holidays if not an excuse to eat special food? |
For some reason it wouldn't let me add captions to the last two pictures but the pretty jewelry was Brigham's Valentines Day gift to me. He done good right? It's even my birth stone. The other pic is of Brigham's new, much needed haircut. I've been cutting his hair for a year now and I still feel like it looks different every time and it still takes me an hour to do it. I guess we've got plenty of time to work on it though. Maybe this will be the year I'll finally figure it out. So that's us right now! Shorter, more frequent posts coming soon.:)
